Gilbert’s highly anticipated and ambitious “mega park” has officially begun phase one of construction. City officials invited the community to join the ground-breaking ceremony taking place Tuesday, May 29th. The new park will be located near Higley and Queen Creek roads.  The park’s plans “incorporate multiple slides, climbing structures, splash pad fountains and water features. A lake, and pickleball and tennis courts are also part of the first phase of construction.”

The much buzzed about park plans to host a ribbon cutting ceremony a year from September when the 20 acres park is expected to be completed. No name has officially been chosen for the park as town council plans to invite the community to decide on a name.
